Winterisation Schedule - Outboard

  1. Start - And warm up engine
  2. Check - All instrument readings
  3. Check - Gear shift and steering operation, condition of cables
  4. Check - For fuel, oil, water leaks
  5. Check - Engine Oil Level & Condition (Change when necessary)
  6. Inhibit - Through carburetor
  7. Change - spark plugs and inhibit cylinders
  8. Change - Pre-filter bowl, change all fuel filters
  9. Fit - New CB (except electronic), inhibit ignition system
  10. Drain - Fuel in carburetors
  11. Dispose - Of fuel in integral tank
  12. Check - Thermostat (if fault suspected)
  13. Remove - Lower unit
  14. Change - Rubber water pump impeller
  15. Clean - Water strainer
  16. Check - And lubricate speed control and reverse gear linkage
  17. Change - Gear oil
  18. Remove - and check condition of props
  19. Check - Engine, touch up paint (by request only)
  20. Check - and protect with moisture repellant spray all electrical connections
  21. Check - Alternator belt(s) condition, leave slackened
  22. Check - And replace sacrificial anodes
  23. Check - All rubber hoses and hoseclips
  24. Blank - All orifices and ports from atmosphere
  25. Grease - All grease points, tilt tube, steering tube, etc.
  26. Check - Engine mounts, shaft alignment and coupling fixings
  27. Remove - Check, clean and charge batteries
  28. Clean - And dry bilges
  29. Leave boat clean and free from oil and grease
